I will tell you how I approached it, because I had this same feeling……….go into the bible ok, find out what the bible says, and let pastors and teachers help you understand things but always keep a keen eye out for bias or just lack of sense in their answers……..the way I got saved is by scripture, the bible told me how to get saved…….Jesus said unless a man forsakes all and follows me he cannot be my disciple……I knew that meant I would have to let go of all and follow him……he said that whoever believes on him has eternal life, and I knew that meant to believed with all my heart on him that I am forgiven….go into the bible and weigh things that anyone says ok? no one is the word of God, only the bible, find out what it says in fear, because if you become a Christian not in the bible, but letting people show you the way, rather than fearing God incredibly and having no bias, it may be better you stay non religious….because the bible is the true word of God and man is fallible
I suggest you do some research go to different Church’s and see which one your comfortable with with your faith and beliefs!
However if you wish to go to a catholic church you would be very welcome and the priest will answer any of your questions you may have!
Now I know the thumbs down fairy just doesn’t like catholics and is nothing to do with my answer LOL
First you have to have a good knowledge of the bible. Study the bible or join a bible study group . read the 10 commandments > im 7th day adventist . its a great religion because its exactly wat the bible says.. if you want to get in a religion and people tell u things always go back to the bible or ask them where does this say in the bible.. dont be afraid to disagree with anyone > if teh bible says so follorw it. dont pay attention to anyone who tells u different.
The Catholic Church is the only one which possesses the fullness of truth. It gets its infallible authority from Matt: 16, verses 18-19. The four marks of a true Church are: (1) One (basic doctrines are the same throughout the entire world) (2) Holy (founded by Jesus Christ Himself). (3) Universal (Anyone can join – does not exclude anyone) (4) Apostolic (It can be traced back to the Apostles in History).
None of the above.
Albert Einstein:
A man’s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death .
joining a church will not save you,
Jesus will.
confess your sin to God,
ask Jesus for forgiveness and repent(turn from your sin)
ask Jesus to save you,and if you are sincere then He will.
read your bible and ask God for guidance, ask Him to show you where you need to go to church,
trust him, he will never lead you the wrong way.
just pray and seek the Lord on this, read the word of God so you wont be tricked by a smooth talker, remember that God hasn’t changed or ever will,
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
ill pray for the Lord to show you the answers, and may He bless and keep you
Just research this question.
Which Church can prove that it is the Church established by Jesus Christ?
That Church would be the church you should belong to. Nowhere in the Bible does it say Jesus established or ordered his disciples to establish different churches with different beliefs.
Chris…
One IS NOT saved by reciting a quick prayer..
“Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose again. Thank You for eternal life!”
Matthew 19: 16-23
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the ccommandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus said:
“thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18, KJV)
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:20-23, KJV)
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:19-20, KJV).
Jesus established only one church, the one He founded on Peter, the rock. He prayed that all His followers would be one, and He promised that He would be with His Church until the end of the world. This was recognized by Saint Paul when he wrote:
“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope when you were called — one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:3-6, NIV).
One faith means one set of beliefs, one set of doctrines; doctrines which never change. There is only one Catholic Church but there are over 36,000 Protestant denominations in America today; each separated from the other by differing doctrines. Each of these denominations can be traced back to a single individual who was not Saint Peter or one of the apostles.
Every Christian church possesses some of the truths revealed by our Lord but only the Catholic Church can trace its origins all the way back to Jesus and Saint Peter through the rite of ordination; the laying on of hands and passing on of episcopal responsibility and authority. Because only the Catholic Church can be traced all the way back to Jesus, only the Catholic Church can be said to possess all the revealed truth. After all, Jesus founded the Church, promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (which means that it would be perpetual and not teach error), and promised to be with it until the end of time. Not at the end of time, but continually until the end of time. Either the Catholic Church was and is the one true Church, or the Bible is wrong, or Jesus lied. – scborromeo.org

At one point in my life I was also in search of the true Church just like. Here are some of the reasons why I converted from Protestantism to Catholicism.http://socrates58.blogspot.com/2005/09/1…
Well first their is only one Christian that’s the Catholic Church the rest are either biblicans or heretics.. or just plain crazyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqfn75wgf…
Well that is a very personal question and one you will ultimatly have to answer for yourself. You need to find what makes you feel good and what you believe. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that is the church i have found that makes me feel close to our Father in Heaven. I have come to that conclusion by prayer, faith, study, and having an honest desire to know what God would have me know. Prayer is our communication line with God there is no set prayer you need to say to recieve an answer I look at it as if I am tring to call a friend who will always listen, I just let him know what is on my mind my questions and other things like that I thank him for specific things and i also ask for specific things if you ask a specific question you will recieve a specific answer. A basic outline for prayer would be (Open by addressing our Father in Heaven, Thanking him for things, Asking for things we need and or want, and close in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen). You can recieve the answer to your prayers and to your question by doing all of that. if you would like you can send me an email and i will help you get intouch with some missionaries from the church who would love to visit with you and teach you and help you know more about the mormon church, or if you would like if you email me i will have a Book of Mormon sent to you free of charge. Ultimatly it is up to you and the answers you recieve from God. I know for my self that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on the face of the earth with the whole truth of God, all churches that teach of Christ and God are good and have a portion of the truth but I know the only church with all the truth and answers to the questions of life is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and was called to restore the church that Christ established when he walked the earth in its fullest. I know that it is by prayer that we can recieve answers to all of lifes questions and we can be closer to God! Good luck with your search and may God direct your paths!
One does not become a Christian by joining a church (though that follows), but by personal whole hearted “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). That means you repented from sin and turned to Christ, and cast all your faith in the Lord Jesus, the Divine Son of God and His sinless shed blood for salvation. And were baptized under water to show it. It means that you were washed from all your sins (Col 2:13) and set apart as holy by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and declared just by imputed righteousness (Rm. 4). It means you have passed from being spiritually dead to being made alive in Christ (Eph. 1:13; 2:1) to “walk in newness of life” (Act 6:4).
A church that preaches that and which holds the Bible as the Divinely Inspired Word of God and supreme authority is basically a true church. Do NOT be a part of any church that makes itself the supreme authority over Scripture, and or makes another “revelation” equal to it, such as the Roman Catholic church (which i once was) and the Mormons, J. witnesses, 7th day Adventist, etc., do, and thus they have many unBiblical teachings and the first two have even fought physical wars against armies. In Scripture the true church consists of all those who have been born again, which is how you spiritually become part of the church (1Cor. 12:13), and they were not all under a autocratic supreme pope (not one command is ever given to the church universal to submit to a Roman pope).
Be like a true” Berean” who “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11)
I would recommend a conservative Baptist or Pentecostal church. Search for a Calvary Chapel church near you here: http://www.calvarychapel.com/?page=churc…

none, read the KJV Bible and ask God how to be a Christian, Start reading in the book of St. John, God will reveal Himself to you as you read His Word
read the word of God, go to different churches and base their teaching on if it matches up with the teachings in the Bible.
Be Pentecostal like me.http://home.earthlink.net/~gklentprs/Act…
Just be a christian
repent and ask the Lord to come into your heart and life and be LORD.
stay away from labels of sects
Buddhist.
The best Christians are Buddhist.
not methodist and catholic…
Of the 304 denominations, which one is true?
Jesus. Thats it. All of the above believe in Jesus.
None of them is the one true word. That’s why they all keep beating each other’s brains out.

Scripture is the word. ‘Christianity’ is the ‘Babylon’ that the Savior YAHOSHUA is calling His followers to ‘come out of’.
Methodist is pretty laid back….. they just say it and you absorb it. If you don’t absorb it than no religion is for you.
have you considered Coptic, Greek orthodox, Armenian, and Maronite ?
Methodists are the only true chosen ones of God.
they all suck. find a new religion.
